convert bmp - files into jpg

how can i convert bmp or tif into jpg-format?
i tested it with graphical and uiobject - it doessn't work.

Hallo Bertil,
this is the code.
when i write the jpg-file into the filename it works. But when i open the
file - the file is a tif-format and not a jpg-format.
